Our main purpose we were at the Roosevelt was for the La Cage show. Which was excellent & I highly recommend. The resturant was out of convenience. Nice place! Service was kind of slow due to the fact that there were more runners than servers. The French onion soup was amazing! The Shirley salad i would go back for all the time. The escargot needed help. The pork chop needed flavor. The mojitos should not be considered their specialty.
Jet legged after 11 hours flight, Shirley Brasserie was our choice for food. We’ll do that again when we are back in LA, because from welcoming service to great food we left our table with a (sleepy) smile.
Highlight of the evening was the drinks - good cocktails, good wines by the glass at not crazy prices. Lackadaisical service, though, and meh food. Escargots were prepared in a manner unlike anything I've ever had. "Crudo" was ceviche. Beef tartare for my daughter was prepared tableside but arrived well after I got - and started eating - my steak frites. There are other better places to go for French bistro food.
The workers were nice. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the crudo and the lobster pasta was okay. I liked their beef bourguignon although it took a bit to come out. The inside of the hotel is nice- it’s all the way inside to the left once you come in.
