Guest Stories: Shirley Brasserie Raves

Me and my wife had a wonderful date night at the Shirley Brasserie in Hollywood. The Food was amazing. We started with the oysters that had a distinct freshness that has me thinking about them several days later then we moved on to the the oxtail and lobster pasta m…mhm mhm mhm! We capped off the meal with an apple gallete. A flaky pastry topped with pure goodness. This is must stop spot for fine dining Hollywood

Ambience was good just one thing after having three drinks you have to use the ladies room. The only thing that bothered me was the lady cleaning the restroom knocked on the door and asked me to change restrooms so she could mop the one I was in. I asked her when I got out you wanted me to change bathroom stalls so you can mop she said yes, because I need to mop that one after that, my mood was ruined, and I will never come back here again. I just found that really bizarre for her to ask me that and the girls that get it they get it

Our main purpose we were at the Roosevelt was for the La Cage show. Which was excellent & I highly recommend. The resturant was out of convenience. Nice place! Service was kind of slow due to the fact that there were more runners than servers. The French onion soup was amazing! The Shirley salad i would go back for all the time. The escargot needed help. The pork chop needed flavor. The mojitos should not be considered their specialty.

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is beautiful (and of course, the Hollywood Roosevelt is incredible), the staff is knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing (we had the pâté, cassoulet, branzino, green beans, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - all excellent). Will definitely be back!
